Highlights from the 2006 Summer Training Program
From surveying pathogens found in packaged meat sold in Champaign County to looking for monkeypox virus in the Rwenzori Mountains of Africa, veterinary students spent last summer advancing knowledge about infectious disease. Other students focused on translational biomedical research, looking at aspects of arthritis treatment, ovarian cancer research, and nanotechnology. In all, 13 students got a glimpse into research careers by participating in the 2006 Summer Research Program run by our Center for Zoonoses Research
