Registration
The pre-registration deadline is Sunday, May 18, 2008. Registrations faxed or postmarked after May 18, 2008, will be charged the on-site registration fee.

Conference Fees
Payment must be provided at the time of registration to guarantee enrollment. Conference fees are payable by check or money order to the University of Illinois or by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express and are due at the time of registration.  Those wishing to pay with a check may print out the online registration form and mail this completed form with a check to the following address:

Refunds
Full refunds will be given if written notification is received by May 18, 2008. Registrations are transferable. After May 18, 2008, refunds will not be made.

Annual Dues
Payment of annual dues is required to receive the AMCOP 60 abstract book. Annual dues may be paid at the time of registration.

Abstracts
Any registered participant may make a 10-minute oral presentation or a poster presentation. Presenters should submit abstracts by Sunday, May 18; abstracts are limited to 500 words, should be in Times New Roman font, and saved using MS Word or RTF. Abstracts should be formatted according to the provided example and utilize the provided form.

Abstracts are due no later than Sunday, May 18, 2008.

Student Awards
Students wishing to be considered for awards must indicate their student status in the authorship, using US for undergraduate student or GS for graduate student. First authors will be considered for the following awards:

  Herrick Award  $300 for best poster presentation or demonstration
  LaRue Award $300 for best oral presentation
  Honorable Mention Awards $100 each for poster and oral presentations
  Cable Award $100 for best presentation by an undergraduate student
  American Society of
Parasitologists Travel Grant
To attend the national ASP meeting, June 27-30, in Arlington, Texas

Accommodations
Conference attendees are responsible for making their own overnight accommodations. Both on-campus and off-campus options are available.

On Campus
On-campus housing is available at Sherman Hall at a cost of $39.45 per person, per night, plus tax. Linens, pillow, and towels are provided. Sherman Hall is an air-conditioned facility with semi-private restroom facilities. The Hall is located at 909 S. Fifth St., Champaign; 217/333-2250. For a map, click here.

Full payment is due at the time of check-in. Parking can be purchased upon check-in at a rate of approximately $10 per day (University Parking has not yet established the new rates).

Thursday Evening Social
The opening reception will be held at Jupiter's at the Crossing, 2511 Village Green Pl., Champaign. For a map, click here. Appetizers will be provided and a cash bar will be available. Those wishing to purchase alcoholic beverages must be at least 21 years of age. Please note that this is at a new location than originally published.

Friday and Saturday Sessions
The Friday and Saturday sessions will be held in the Basic Sciences Building, which is located on the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine campus at 2001 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana. For a map, click here.

Friday Reception
The Friday reception will be held in conjunction with and sponsored by the Dr. Norman D. Levine and Dr. Jorge and Mary Anne Guerrero lecture series in veterinary parasitology. This reception will be hosted in the atrium of the Basic Sciences Building.

Friday Banquet
The banquet will be held at Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano, 2235 S. Neil St., Champaign. For a map, click here. Banquet tickets may be purchased at the time of conference registration. A cash bar will be available; those wishing to purchase alcoholic beverages must be at least 21 years of age. Preference for a vegetarian meal must be indicated at the time of conference registration.

Those attending the conference who wish to register a guest for the Friday banquet, may do so by contacting the College of Veterinary Medicine's Office of Public Engagement, 217/333-2907 or ope@cvm.uiuc.edu.

Meals
Continental breakfast will be served outside the meeting room on Friday and Saturday mornings. A variety of options within short driving distance are available for lunch on Friday. An optional lunch for purchase is also available for on-site dining. This preference needs to be indicated with your registration.

Silent Auction
This conference will once again feature a silent auction of various professional materials to generate funds to support the student awards. Individuals wishing to donate items may bring them to the conference.

Continuing Education
Continuing education credit is available for licensed veterinarians. To obtain this credit, you must indicate with your conference registration that it is needed.

Emergency Messages
In an emergency, messages can be left for conference participants at 217/333-2907 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. As a courtesy to other conference attendees, we request that all cell phone ringers be muted for the duration of the conference.

Registration Desk
Registration packets, including your name badge, continuing education forms, and proceedings, may be picked up at the registration desk located in the lobby of the Basic Sciences Building during the following hours:

Individuals arriving at a time other than that which is listed above may pick up their registration packets in room 3505 of the Basic Sciences Building.

Transportation
The University of Illinois is located near Interstates 57, 72, and 74. The community is also accessible by train via Amtrak and airplane through Willard Airport (CMI) at Savoy. Maps and directions to the College are available online at www.cvm.uiuc.edu/ope/.

Parking
Friday, June 6—Special conference parking will be available in the grassy area north of the Basic Sciences Building. Access to this grassy lot is via St. Mary’s Rd. Signs will be posted.

Saturday, June 7—Conference attendees may park in lot F27 with access off of Lincoln Ave. This lot is adjacent to the Basic Sciences Building and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

It is important that attendees park in the above designated areas at the appropriate times. Violators will likely receive a parking ticket and automobiles may be towed. The College of Veterinary Medicine is not responsible for costs incurred as a result of a parking ticket or automobile tow.
