NEW News:

The Environmental Council's
The Interdisciplinary Environmental program will provide a $500award for the best Graduate Student or Postdoctoral poster.

Poster Guidance for Web Site:

The formal poster session will be on Sunday, June 13, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Authors should plan on tending their posters during the formal poster session. Poster boards will be available for placement of your poster beginning at 8:00 am on Sunday, June 13. Your poster should be displayed by the 2:45pm afternoon break. A small identifying sign will be mounted on the board where your poster is to be displayed. Ample supplies of pins and tape will be available for mounting posters. Please remember that you must register for the conference, as submission of a poster abstract does not automatically register you. Information on the poster session will be available at the registration table. Early submission of poster abstracts is strongly encouraged if you wish your abstract to appear in the collected abstracts.

The Conference will provide self-standing boards, cork on one side and wood on the other. Each side of the board measures 4 feet high by 8 feet wide. You will have one-half of one side of the board for your poster, an area of 4 feet x 4 feet. You may mount posters created as one large sheet or multiple smaller sheets, but do not exceed the area allotted for your poster. For the convenience of those who are interested in your poster topic, we recommend providing a single-page summary of your poster to hand out to visitors. The quality of posters presented at scientific meetings has improved markedly in recent years, but the expectations of audiences also have increased. Please consider the following issues in preparing your poster presentation:

Make sure the text, figures and captions are large enough to be read comfortably from a distance of 3
feet. Tile lettering should be at least 1 inch high. Avoid placing too much text on the poster. Figure lines
should be heavily drawn. Avoid showing lengthy tables of raw data.

The poster will be available for viewing for extended periods when it will not be attended. The poster
should be understandable without oral explanation. Aim for clarity and simplicity; include objectives,
design/methods, and results and conclusions, using clear, concise statements.

The poster room is available through workshop summation on Tuesday, June 15. You are encouraged to leave their posters hung through Tuesday noon. The organizers assume no responsibility for posters not removed by the close of the workshop.
