Financial Support
Interns are paid $13,000 plus emergency duty bonuses for a 60% appointment (Small Animal Medicine). Personal medical insurance fees are reimbursed quarterly throughout the year and parking fees are furnished. Interns with an 80% appointment are paid $16,000 plus emergency duty bonuses and must pay 20% of their medical insurance premiums and are charged for parking. Interns cannot register for course work.
Graduate students can receive financial support in several ways.
1. From the research grants of VCM faculty
2. From NIH and similar research training fellowships
3. Scholarships from their own governments (foreign students)
4. Departmental funds
