We are open to receive emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Referring veterinarians may alert the staff to incoming cases via our referral phone line (217-333-5311) and the public may use our walk-in emergency clinic any time or call the main phone number. Our goal is to provide excellent care and excellent service. We will accept any emergency at any time.

Mission: Our mission is to provide the best veterinary care to our emergency patients. We also strive to provide exceptional service to our referring veterinary community by providing timely feedback on all cases seen at the VTH. Each morning a fax will be sent to the referring veterinarian of record detailing diagnostics and treatments that were performed during the night. We offer state-of-the-art diagnostics and therapeutic options in our multi-specialty hospital while focusing on clinical excellence and optimal client and referral services. We provide on site laboratory services with the iStat, state-of-the-art instrumentation in blood gas analysis, electrolytes, lactate, glucose, ionized calcium and magnesium, and BUN and creatinine. This test requires a few drops of blood and gives results in one minute allowing the Critical Care Team to diagnose and treat life threatening emergencies rapidly.
